Confidentiality is Mandated by Law

The IHSS Recipient's confidential information is protected by State law (California Welfare & Institutional Code, Section 10850).  Violating a Recipient's confidential information may be punishable by a fine and/or imprisonment.

You may NOT disclose any information about an IHSS Recipient, except for the provision of information to public agencies to the extent required for purposes directly connected with the administration of public social services.
